Birds & Bottles: Still-life Drawing with Artist in Residence, Cory Kram

  • Glen Foerd 5001 Grant Avenue Philadelphia, PA, 19114 United States (map)

Join us for a still-life drawing workshop, showcasing objects from Glen Foerd's collection and found objects from the Poquessing Creek, a former dump site during the early 1900s. We will explore the differences and similarities between museum artifacts and discarded materials while they are displayed in a unique tableau. We will also discuss how and why we attach worth to objects. Drawing materials will be provided, but please feel free to bring your own supplies as well. This free workshop is a wonderful chance to practice your artistic skills in a historical setting.

Cory Kram is a multidisciplinary, community teaching artist living in Philadelphia who specializes in sculpture, painting, and fiber. She is greatly inspired by the ephemeral images and objects that lie on the everyday plane of modern existence and often incorporates found materials in her practice. Her practice extends beyond traditional art spaces; she is deeply committed to community engagement, social justice, and collaborative art. As the 2025 Teaching Artist in Residence, Cory will facilitate a series of free workshops that are open to the public.
