Pipe Organ Grand Opening & Recital

  • Glen Foerd 5001 Grant Avenue Philadelphia, PA, 19114 United States (map)

* SOLD OUT *

Join Glen Foerd on January 6th, 2024, for our first event of the new year.... unveiling the music, history, and craftsmanship of our newly restored 121-year-old pipe organ! After a year-long restoration, Glen Foerd’s pipe organ, built in 1902 by Philadelphia’s one-time C.S. Haskell Company for Gilded Age industrialist Robert Foerderer, has come home. With the support of a generous grant from the Wyncote Foundation, historical organ experts Kegg Pipe Organ Builders breathed new life into this rare and unique organ, making it once again the centerpiece of the historic Main House of Glen Foerd. We are excited to welcome you in to listen to its charming music once more.

We are pleased to spotlight Mark Loria, Principal Organist for the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter & Paul, as our guest to commemorate the occasion with a live concert. This event is open to families, with a creative art space for little ones, music fans, and history buffs alike. All four floors of the Main House will be open to explore during the concert, or seats will be available in the art gallery and first floor. Come be a part of this exciting moment in our local history and hear a unique instrument that can only be heard at Glen Foerd!
